In the world of gin we have a number of different categories one of which is Barrel Aged gin. It's not a new concept, people have been putting alcohol into barrels for centuries and in terms of gin, put it into a wine barrel or whiskey barrel and it tends to mellow out the bite of the alcohol.
I would like to introduce you to Few Barrel aged gin from Chicago in the United States. They are better known for their Whiskey and Bourbon but also have a very fine gin range.
Their gin is put into a bourbon barrel for 4 months during which time it takes on an amber colour and adopts a very different flavour profile with, as you would expect, notes of bourbon in the gin.
At MORE Social we would recommend that you sip this gin in the same way that you would drink a brandy or fine single malt.
We serve Few gin over a large cube of ice with some honey water and a slice of orange.
Try it. We think you will love it.
