Update #3 Oops!

Hey gang! Update number 3 for you.

It's been an eventful couple of weeks but I've seen progress on every day. Actually, thats a lie there was a definite backwards step, hence the "Oops!" in the title. Here is the Oops!

You just have to love 200 year old Cyprus building where the wiring seems to be routed randomly all over the place. We were plumbing in the drainage for the back bar sink and chopped through a power cable which didn't trip any circuit breakers. Very odd. To cut a long story short (a one week of story), we cut that line out of the equation and have re-wired the bar.

We have been busy building the back wall and re-fitting the original door and that now looks like the main picture that I used for the blog post. Here is another angle.

So then it was time to start planning out the actual bar which we will start work on tomorrow. This really is like a game of chess where I keep moving stuff around to make room for the next phase. At times it is complete chaos and then I clean up and re-arrange stuff and things get back to some semblance of order. This is what chaos looks like.

The optimum height of a bar is 42 inches from floor to bar top which meant that I needed to cut the old bar down by about 5 cm. So I did that and then laid everything out and then took a picture for you all. The wood that you see on the floor will be cut to size and then be the front of the bar.

People have been so nice and keep dropping in to say hello and wish me well and I give everyone a quick look around so don't be shy. Come and say hello if you are in Kouklia, I don't bite, honest!!!

In terms of stuff other than construction we ordered the chairs the other day and they should be with us in about 10 days. Spoiler alert, we have bought director chairs which will be very kind to your rear ends as opposed to those school chairs where you lose the use of your legs after half an hour. We will also supply cushions to elevate people who need them.

The fridges and freezers are arriving tomorrow morning and today I have been getting the kitchen ready for them. This involves fixing stainless steel sheets to the wall, oh what fun we had. Anyway all done now and as of end of play today the kitchen is looking like this.

That's about it for today. I'll post a couple of pictures of the fridges and bar progress on the More Social Facebook timeline over the next couple of days.

Cheers Mal
